Program Notes
This work was composed to describe the movement of colorful, vibrant light rays in a beautiful sunset glow that floods the evening sky. The notes in this composition express the wind and its strength, the sun and its radiant light rays, the movement and color of light, and the soft clouds of the natural landscape. Each section aims to express the changing form of light particles via different textures and performance techniques. The orchestration of some sections is structured to mirror the flow of wind and light particles and to facilitate the visualization of sound. Moreover, the sounds of this composition seek to convey various moods such as tranquility, peace, rage, and images such as a slow-paced walk along a lush, green park during sunset. It also expresses the many colors of the sunset glow, such as purple, blue, sky-blue, orange, crimson, red, and scarlet.
