Younje Cho is a Korean composer and eco-sonic artist based in Indiana whose work invites listeners to reimagine our sonic relationship with nature while exploring the rich intersection of harmony, perception, and environmental consciousness. His music investigates how sound shapes our psychological and instinctual responses, with particular attention to the natural qualities of harmony and its impact on human perception. Drawing inspiration from nature and wildlife, Cho bridges human experience with the natural world through what he calls a "pan-natural" approach—an organic exploration of sound that reveals instincts shared across species. Through carefully crafted harmonic structures and textural landscapes, his work creates immersive listening experiences that heighten our awareness of both environmental sounds and their emotional resonance.

His work has gained international recognition through major programs including the 2023 American Composers Orchestra EarShot Readings in Manhattan and the Korean National Symphony Orchestra Composers' Atelier, where he was named an outstanding composer. Cho's music has also garnered numerous awards, including the 2024 Korean National Composition Award (Young Composer Award) and multiple prizes in The American Prize competitions—2nd Prize (2023) and 3rd Prize (2022) in the Chamber Music Division, along with Honorable Mention in the Vocal Chamber Music Division. His orchestral works have been acknowledged with Honorable Mention in the Hangzhou Contemporary Music Festival "Artinno Award" International Competition and selection as a finalist for the 2025 SEAMUS Commission Competition. Other notable achievements include the 2022 Georgina Joshi Composition Commission Award with the Dean's Prize at Indiana University, the 2018 Seoul New Music Festival Award, 3rd Place in the Hwacheon Bimok Song Music Competition, and 3rd Prize in the Music Association of Korea Competition. During his studies at Yonsei University, his compositions were selected as the highest-ranked student works and performed at the College of Music's Autumn Festival in both 2015 and 2016.
